Be advised, don't swim in random coves...

Ok so this is a quick story, happened to me in summer, thought you guys would be interested. My three friends and I were on two jet skis in Smith Lake (Alabama). Two of them wanted to race, but didn't want the added weight of me and my bud, so they pulled to the side, into this cove, and dropped us off. We were swimming around for about five minutes and we hear distant yelling, only to look up at a house and notice an old man and others surrounding him, pointing and yelling. However, he was pretty far away and we couldn't understand. We ignored it since we'd probably be leaving soon, and figured he was just mad about possibly being on his property. Anyways, within another two minutes, we see him run down onto his dock and hop on to his jet ski frantically, then he races towards us. At this point, we are pretty spooked. He instantly informs us that he and others spotted a few alligators exactly where we were ten minutes from then. The thought of swimming around, probably right over where those alligators were under water, makes me so spooked out.
