This was last year when i was diving in Sipadan. First dive of the day and they dropped us off at (i think) south point and the 2 instructors told us to follow them. They lead us out to sea and after a few minutes i look down and i see nothing, nothing at all. just a murky blueness. There were no reference points that i could see and no fish swimming underneath or around me. if any of you are recreational divers you know how rare it is not to have any reference points at all. it looked exactly like the background on this sub. a bit of a terrifying experience and especially on the first dive of the day.so there thats my brush with thalassophobia
