Just wanted to recommend a book that might work as very good horror for people of your persuasion. Or really, a series of books, but the first one is most on track: it's "The Rifters" trilogy by Peter Watts, especially the first book "Starfish" Plot is that a number of social misfits and criminals in the future get a second chance by agreeing to be cybernetically altered to enable them to survive and even thrive at extreme depths and are sent to a deep water station where they encounter some seriously weird stuff, including monstous deep sea creatures. And no, it's not only scary it's also very good if you enjoy SciFi.Anyone happened to read it and have a "Thalassophobian" take on it?
