Human anchor!

My mother, bless her, has sworn off the beach and ocean for the rest of her life. This can be difficult in my family since we are Portuguese and are mostly known for our fisherman ways.In this particular instants, I was 3, and my whole family (aunt, uncle, cousins, parents) would make yearly trips to the beach to go fishing, swimming, and to just relax. My uncle used to go swimming in Mozambique in the ocean when he was serving the in the Portuguese Army (a real joke). He would routinely go swiming where there were known to be a number of whirlpools and thus had very little to no fear of the water. This is not a quality shared with his younger sister (my mother). Needless to say, she still had the confidence to get her feet in the water but only to her knees. She carelessly turned her eyes from oncoming waves and as can be expected, this was when a bigger than average wave came in and toppled her over. Having not expected this, the wave proceeded to drag her out to sea. Nothing she could grab onto would keep her from being pulled out, EXCEPT for my aunt. My aunt being on the more heavy set size was in further into the water. My mother, panicking, grabs her by the ankle, causing my aunt to instantly lose her balance and literally becoming a human anchor for my petite mother preventing her from being pushed out to sea where she would have most likely freaked out. All unnecessary reactions considering the the 4 other adult family members all know how to swim, EXCEPT for my father (great right?).So what do you think was first thing they did when they got back? Signed me up for summer camp and put me in a swim program. Now I am about to finance a 40'+ sailboat in two weeks in hopes of traveling the world in the near future. Using her biggest fear as my highway. She has no idea yet...........ha ha ha. -_-She is probably going to lose her she when she finds out, AFTER I buy the boat. :-)
