What are your favorite examples of thalassophobia in video games?
I was browsing this sub and thought that a lot of these pictures would make great scenarios in video games. Then that got me wondering what games I'd played where I'd felt similar. And now I want to know what games you've all played where you experienced thalassphobia.Off the top of my head I can think of three games with moments like that for me. I remember playing Riven back in the day and having to summon the whale creature thing and go in the little underwater carts and stuff and that kinda freaked me out. The next was the beginning of half life two when you're being teleported around and then you get teleported into the water where the shark thing attacks you. And lastly, the water snake thing in shadow of the colossus really got me too.I could probably think of some more if I took the time, but those came instantly to mind.
What the fuck happened to this sub?
Is it just me, or is /r/thalassophobia becoming /r/EarthPorn?? Half the stuff posted is wallpaper-worthy as opposed to actual fucking thalassophobic content. Shit like this and this should NOT be posted here. Like, are you fucking serious? It's a friggin hotel pool. Get the fuck over it. This sub has it's fair share of creepy content but the amount of people posting this petty shit and calling it "horrifying" are quickly devouring this subs content value. I actually stopped browsing here for a few months because of how bad it got back in November, but I'm even more pissed off now to see that nothing has changed. If you want cool pics of water, go to /r/pics or /r/EarthPorn. If you want scary photos of deep sea monsters and underwater horrors, you come here. To /r/thalassophobia. If you still think this sub was meant for posting cute photos, check the hall of fame, because nothing in there is cute, and it has good reason for that./rant
